Kembangan Poktan GSG 07 Harvests Hundreds of Kilograms of Vegetables

The GSG 07 Farmer Group (Poktan), Jalan Kampung Salo, T 08/07, Kembangan Utara, Kembangan, West Jakarta has announced they have managed to harvest hundreds of kilograms of vegetables. It is mostly sold to local residents and partly consumed by the poktan members.

One of GSG 07 Poktan members, Kasmin said those vegetables consisted of 12 kg of kale, 8 kg of yam, and 230 kg of pumpkin honey.

"Alhamdulillah now residents consume processed foods from our harvested honey pumpkins, such as puddings and sponge cakes made from honey pumpkins. This surely adds economic value to local residents too," he expressed, Tuesday (6/15).

For the quality of the commodities harvested, he believed the results were very good. Moreover, all of his crops were organic and did not use any chemicals so they were very safe and healthy for public consumption.

"This is organic thus it is very safe and healthy for public consumption," he stressed.

West Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency Head, Iwan Indriyanto uttered the harvest was routinely carried out every week with various types of vegetables.

"It has succeeded in making food security in this region better, and can increase economic value for Poktan members and locals," he stated.
